Maine Family Federal Credit Union Announces Decrease in Membership Par Value
LEWISTON, ME – Maine Family Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce a significant change to our membership structure that will make joining our credit union even more accessible. Effective January 10, 2025, the par value of membership shares decreased from $25 to $5.
This change underscores our commitment to ensuring that everyone in our community has access to affordable financial services. By lowering the par value, we aim to remove barriers for individuals and families looking to benefit from the personalized, member-focused financial solutions we provide.
“At Maine Family Federal Credit Union, our members are our priority, and we believe that reducing the membership par value is a step forward in fostering inclusivity and accessibility,” said Dan Clarke, President/CEO. “This adjustment allows more people to take advantage of the many benefits of credit union membership, including competitive rates, lower fees, and personalized service.”
The new $5 par value will apply to all new memberships established on or after January 10, 2025. Existing members will not need to take any action as their membership shares are automatically adjusted.
